scipylab.com is a personal technical notebook, published on a non-commercial basis by individuals writing under pen names. In accordance with French law (LCEN, law no. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004), their identity has been disclosed to the hosting provider.

Each article is signed by its author, who is solely responsible for it.

Privacy

This site sets no cookies and uses no trackers. Nothing is read from or written to your device, except the light or dark theme if you pick one with the header button. That is why there is no consent banner: there is nothing to consent to.

  • Fonts are served by the site itself. No request is made to Google Fonts or any other third party.
  • The theme chosen with the light / dark button is saved in your browser (local storage, not a cookie). It never leaves your device and is only used to display that theme. You can clear it with the site data in your browser.
  • The server keeps a technical log of requested pages: date, page, browser, referring page and IP address truncated as soon as it is written (last octet removed for IPv4, everything but the first 48 bits for IPv6). A truncated address cannot, on its own, identify a visitor. The log is kept for 30 days, is used for site security and aggregate traffic statistics (most read pages, referring sites), and is shared with no one.
  • Share links (LinkedIn, Bluesky, X, Reddit, Hacker News) are plain links: nothing loads from those services unless you click.

Comments

Comments and reactions are powered by giscus, which stores them in GitHub Discussions. They load only when you click “Show comments”. From that click on, your browser contacts giscus.app and github.com, which receive your IP address.

Commenting or reacting requires signing in with a GitHub account. Your comments are then public and governed by GitHub's privacy statement. You can edit or delete them at any time on GitHub.
